The Fraser Institute’s Hospital Report Card: British Columbia 2008 provides an invaluable tool that patients and the general public can use to stimulate improvements in the quality of health services by measuring the performance of British Columbia's acute care hospitals.
The 39 measures of in-hospital quality of care information contained in the Hospital Report Card analyse just under two million patient records over the period from April 1st, 2001 to March 31st, 2006.
Data from all of British Columbia's acute care hospitals are included in the report. None of British Columbia's 95 acute-care hospitals granted us authorization to identify them by name in this report and are thus anonymously shown in the report by number.
